At ADAM EduTech, through our websites accessible from www.adam.co.za and help.adam.co.za, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by ADAM EduTech and how we use it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Information we store and manage on behalf of others
ADAM EduTech maintains and licences the “ADAM Software” for use by schools to help them manage their pupil, parent and staff details, as well as related information. Schools are obliged collect and store information within the database in line with any agreements that you, as a parent of an applicant, child or alumnus of a school, or staff member, have with them.
ADAM EduTech treats as highly confidential the information stored within our customers’ databases. Under no circumstances with ADAM EduTech or its staff divulge the information that we store on behalf of a customer to any third party for any reason whatsoever without prior written consent from the customer’s Information Officer. Any such requests will be specific about the information that is to be shared and the person or company with whom it is to be shared.
ADAM EduTech disclaims any responsibility for the data that is captured and stored by the school in their normal course of their use of the ADAM Software. Any requests for information access, or for the removal thereof, must be directed to the school who remains responsible for that data under the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act.

Information we collect
The website www.adam.co.za and help.adam.co.za do not collect any personal information and are intended to be used only for reference.
Users of our software have more information collected about their activity for reason of auditing and monitoring. The following information is collected when you log into an ADAM database:
1. Your username and attached identifiers
2. A unique identifier stored in a cookie on your computer that identifies the computer you have logged in with. This cookie is set to expire after two years of no usage.
3. Each page you visit within the ADAM software
4. Information which you submit to the ADAM software for processing
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
When the ADAM Software emails families, pupils and staff from its Messaging Centre, it contains an invisible pixel which, when loaded, signals to the server that the message has been delivered and opened.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect in a variety of ways. These include:
1. Provide, operate and maintain our website and software
2. Improve, personalise and expand our website and our software.
3. Understand and analyse how you use our website and our software
4. Develop new products, services, features and functionality for our website and our software.
5. Communicate with you directly, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website.
6. Find and prevent fraud
7. To report and monitor proper server functioning.
Log Files
ADAM EduTech follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Advertising partners privacy policies
ADAM EduTech does not include any advertising on www.adam.co.za or help.adam.co.za or within any of its software products and, as such, does not employ the use of and advertising partners.
Third party privacy policies
ADAM EduTech’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other websites. ADAM EduTech uses Google Analytics to track and monitor patterns of usage within the ADAM software.
This information is anonymised by Google when reported to us to show aggregated statistics.
Data protection rights
We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
Where we are responsible for the collection of the data in question, you may make a request to us. We have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us. Where we are storing information that has been collected by one of our customers, they will need to service your request since we are not in a position to determine the legitimacy of such a request.
Children's information
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
ADAM EduTech does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13 outside of its software which is specifically designed to help schools manage this information. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website or via email to us, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
